The white guy is supposed to be a racist. But if white supremacists had created a society where whites could abuse others, surely it would not be whites who are afraid of others.
Whites would instill fear. They wouldn’t cross the street hoping to avoid offending the black person.
A white woman walking on the street knows that a young black man walking towards her could easily catch her and she stands no chance of running away. Why does she cross the street? Because she’s afraid that she might provoke him somehow. Anything and everything can provoke him because he is upset over the legacy of slavery or the long-ended Jim Crow laws or Rosa Parks or something else that happened before he was ever born.
She doesn’t think that every black person is a criminal. She might be friends with this black guy if she were introduced to him. But her concern isn’t whether this particular black person is a criminal or not. Her concern is to minimize her chances of getting assaulted, robbed or raped, or at least “punked”.
He is probably not a criminal. But he’s not the only black guy she’ll walk past. And the black crime rate is high enough that soon enough somebody will be a criminal. And as we all know, only black-on-black crime is wrong. Black-on-white crime, though more prevalent according to official statistics than b-on-b crime, cannot be mentioned unless you are willing to be known as a racist. Attacking whites is a rational response to the history books that refuse to teach that Mona Lisa was painted by a black artist and stolen from a non-existent Ethiopian museum. Or it’s a response to the new law forbidding lifetime welfare.
So unless you know the person walking towards you is not a criminal, you avoid him. He might be a criminal. Or he might be a civil rights activist who might punch you in the face to start the race revolt.
And if he assaults you, it would be racist to prosecute him and no jury in a major city (a.k.a. any place where blacks will wind up on the jury) will convict him for assault the white devil.
But again why cross the street? She can’t escape. But she can show him “respect”. She can show him that he can walk wherever he pleases and meanwhile “whitey” has to act like the “untouchable” caste in India.
Yes, whites have become “untouchables” who must give way on the street!
That’s racism? That’s white supremacy?
A black person who talks of racist whites crossing the street should consider how humiliating it would’ve been for him to cross the street when he sees a person of another race. Whites aren’t feeling superior as they try not to offend you. They feel humiliated and abused. And that’s not white supremacy. That’s black supremacy and white humiliation.
I beg to differ on this.
Crossing the street in the circumstances described is simply an intelligent defensive action to head off a probable nasty situation, knowing that the civil authorities will fail in their responsibilities today. It is a humiliation only if you accept that it means that you are truly inferior. To be up against superior force should never mean that you are inferior as a person, unless you yourself believe that to be a fact.
If anything, avoidance of the confrontation is often the evidence of superiority, rather than the opposite. To know when to withdraw and let brute force have the field is a sign of intelligence that will ultimately win the conflict if not this immediate battle.
I accept no humiliation on the street, even if I have to let the bully have the right of way. He will usually cause his own destruction soon enough with no effort at all from me.
The privileged race does not need to cross the street. I refuse to cross. I refuse to shut up. I frequently stand in the middle of a crowded bus and talk about the injustices of affirmative action or blacks getting away with anti-white crime. I do so in a regular voice, knowing that everyone can hear. Not once did any black or other person confronted me.
When you cross the street, you show fear and invite an attack. It absolutely is a display of your humiliation, fear and inferiority. Stand your ground and you’ll get attacked less.
I think in most situations like the one pictured, with the two individuals both being young males, probably evenly matched, the White has been conditioned to give way. First thing is to avoid eye contact, because that could be seen as a challenge. I’ve observed so many interactions between the races, and blacks, singly or in a group, tend to dominate the middle of the sidewalk as if to claim ownership, while many Whites will tend to use body language that indicates non-aggression or neutrality.
We are so conditioned to placate and to try to avoid offense or provocation, it’s just automatic with many Whites where the race issue is involved. I think we need to become more aware of this. I think, although Whites just like to be civilized and avoid conflict, this is misread as submission or fear and it is exploited.
The constant stereotype of bullying, arrogant Whites oppressing victimized minorities is a fabrication which can be easily refuted by looking at real-life interaction between the races. The ‘oppressed’ race would logically try to keep a low profile and withdraw from confrontation. We can see in real life that blacks don’t do this; they seem to seek to provoke and confront.
The media likes to use the same lie about Whites inspiring fear in minorities in their little news stories about the poor immigrants who are afraid to ask for help when they are crime victims. The immigrants, supposedly, are afraid of Americans, and thus they ‘live in the shadows.’ That is truly laughable; I have never yet seen an immigrant act afraid of White Americans; they all act quite arrogant and demanding. If Americans were such racist bullies, we would not have an illegal immigration problem and we would not be bowing and scraping to everybody with a sob story.
The truth is the very opposite of the image painted by the politically correct fantasies.
You wonder how many whites actually do change their course of walking in this sort of situation? The poster looks more like a PC stereotype. You also wonder in states with “right to carry” (concealed arms) laws how situations like this turn out.
Vanishing American, avoiding eye contact is an invitation to a sucker punch.
Guy, stay strong, brother!
WOW….that is the dumbest thing i have ever heard. I clicked on this because i thought the picture was funny, and then i find all this ignorance floating around. If this actually is what white people think, you guys are living in a fantasy world. White people don’t cross the street out of respect to anybody, they cross it out of fear because they think anybody not white is a criminal. That assumption in it self is ridiculous. Now if you’re coming up on somebody that looks threatening, no matter what race he might be, then by all means cross the street. I’m black, and i do that too. Or if i’m with my girlfriend somewhere, and we are walking toward a bunch of guys being loud or anything that look like they might say something to her, and thus forcing me to kick somebody’s ass, then we avoid them.
This whole thing about “offending the black man” by not crossing the street is the dumbest thing i’ve ever heard. If anything, crossing the street is what’s offensive. To somebody like me, an educated, professional, all around nice guy with no criminal record what so ever, to see somebody cross the street to avoid me is highly offensive because you’re not showing respect. You are showing disrespect by assuming just because of the color of my skin, that i’m going to do something wrong. As far as black crime being so high, one of the reasons people either don’t know about, or don’t want other people to know about is the facts that whites get away with a lot of crimes that they commit. I’ve got white friends that have done things that would have landed me in jail for a very long time, but because mommy, daddy, or a relative, or close friend is well connected, nothing is ever done to them, therefore there’s no record of the crime at all. Anything from stealing a car (joyriding is what they call it), other forms of robbery, assault, aggrivated assault, battery, DUI, all kinds of crap. Perfect example: I used to play basketball at a church recreation center in a men’s basketaball league. During the game, two of the guys on the court (both white) got into a huge knock down, drag out fist fight. The fight took more than 15 minutes to stop. This happened in the middle of the church gym on a wednesday night (family night). there were families, and children all over the gym. On the track above the courts, in the bleachers, using the exercise equipment on the track, EVERYWHERE. So what did the director of the center do? He broke them up, calmed them down, then let them continue the game. No further action was taken. Fast forward a few months. Two guys playing basketball at noon in the same gym began to argue (both black). The argument escalates, but no punches are thrown, and there’s no stoppage of play. Well, the guy that started it all waited for the other guy outside. once they were outside, and off church property, one guy was hit from behind. Sneak attack. There was one punch thrown, and the guy that got hit took the hit and was ready to fight, but cooler heads prevailed and the guys standing around (all black) broke them up because it was near a church after all. Everybody got in their cars, and left. The whole incident was over within 5 minutes. WHat happened after that? The same administrators that were there for the first incident called the police for this one. They had the police looking for the two guys, and wanted them arrested. Okay? The two guys both got banned from the gym for the next 3 months. If the cops had been there, the two black guys would have been put in jail, while the two whites were patted on back and told not to worry about it.
Back to the “offending black people” thing, even if you would somehow offend a black person, that still doesn’t mean a confrontation will result, because not everybody on the planet reacts to being offended. If that were the case, everybody on earth would be in a fist fight every day because at some point through out the day, everybody gets offended by something.
Really, I can’t believe it. I have to admit, African and Mixed Race citizens in America are far more civil and respectable. (I cannot say blacks, as that may result in a racism charge. [Whole reason I'm on here. Looking for pictures based upon race]) I can safely say, the legal system of England is outrageous. A murder. A white man, beaten to death by three black youths. The court sees the verdict as murder. (White Judge) The Black youths claim the Jury and Judge were biased and Racist. They walk free. Funny. How the White man who once enslaved the black man has been crushed underfoot by political correctness.
I hope soon, that the legal system will sort itself out. Or there will be trouble.
pretty much just don’t do anything, otherwise someone will find a way to make it racist and then you will be beat, put in jail, etc.
I think if black people stopped complaining about any negative thing that happens to them, but not specifically towards them society would be a fun place! Considering it was white people who freed them from slavery in America, I think they should at least respect that and not be mean to white people and call them racist.
Birds of a feather flock together. The white person knows that the black person in front of them could be an aggressor – so they do the right thing: cross the street.
There may well be black people who love white people – but.. when it comes down to it, black people want to rule the world, just as much as any other race. We are all stupid humans at the end of the day.
There is no point in a small number of highly intelligent, nice people basing their verdicts on personal feelings. The truth is that a big percentage of people – of all races – are stupid, aggressive, and ignorant.
The white person crosses the street because the black person has the upper hand in today’s society. That’s an issue that needs to be debated – because it’s very negative that racism laws have just flipped the coin in favour of black people. It’s stupid – and definitely not positive for white people to now feel hard done by. A solution that makes every race happy needs to be found.
good white people should cross the street in some southern states years ago is was required by law for black people to do the same thing
This post brought up some uncomfortable memories for me; as a tall and well-built black male, but who is professionally employed and has never committed as much as a misdemeanor, I often find myself when walking down a city street the object of someone else’s fear — and, in respect, it’s sort-of amusing some of the tactics i’ve devised to disarm the other’s perceived anxiety.
None of this was really in an issue once i got to my mid 30s or so; but when i was younger and walking down a street and approaching a female, who seemed vulnerable, I would often be the one to cross to the other side of the street, in the aim of relieving any nervousness on her part. or sometimes, i would offer a friendly ‘hello’ how ya doing tonight,’ in the most generic and harmless dialect, but mainly i’d just try to be as low-key as possible.
I feel for smaller people who can’t help but feel intimidated just because of their relative relationship to other in terms of size or gender. And i have no sympathy whatsoever for the kind of punkish behavior that preys upon the physically weaker or physically weaker gender. However, I do think that this unfortunate behavior is mainly a problem of either indigents or teenagers, and thankfully most adults, black and white, cross each other in pedestrian ways without causing incidents.
