A ‘marriage strike’ is the social phenomenon of men seeking to avoid marriage. The ‘marriage strike’ specifically refers to the action of men living within the Western world. Advocates of the marriage strike believe that after a considered cost-benefit analysis, the legal contract that is modern marriage no longer represents an attractive option for men living in the West’s changed legal, economic, sociological, cultural and demographic environment.

Advocates of the marriage strike hold the combination of 1) laws permitting no-fault divorce, and 2) prevailing conditions in divorce courts that are substantially more likely to favor the wife over the husband in disputes over child custody, visitation rights, ownership of the family residence and other shared property, child support, and alimony, enable a woman to unilaterally divorce her husband, while simultaneously depriving him of the right to see his offspring and financially crippling him.
Advocates of no-marriage argue that since the divorce rate is high, and that women are more likely than men to seek no-fault divorce, then such scenarios a likely outcome of marriage, and therefore men should choose not to marry.
There have also been numerous studies showing that a approximately 76% percent of no-fault divorces in the United States were initiated by women– usually against a man who works a blue-collar job, and for subjective grounds such as “emotional unfulfillment” rather than any actual wrongful conduct of the man himself.[citation needed]
Likewise, according to [maritalstatus.com], a Web site geared toward divorce and remarriage, divorce is a $28 billion-a-year industry with an average cost of about $20,000. Furthermore, it is an unquestionable fact that those men most unable to afford adequate representation legally, are most likely to suffer the most financially in resulting judgments and settlements.
Such evidence gives rise to allegations that many women are unfairly reaping a financial windfall through divorce at their ex-husband’s expense, and therefore men should simply avoid this risk through avoiding marriage altogether.
Such advocacy holds that marriage poses absolutely no benefit to a man whatsoever, in that that traditional positive benefits of consortium, security and custody have been entirely revamped and eclipsed by reforms to original marriage laws; meanwhile likewise, advocates hold that these and other societal, legal, and other reforms, now afford equal or greater such benefits to non-married persons, in addition to of the benefits of remaining unmarried.
Advocates hold, rather, that selective, one-sided reforms by feminists and other groups such as universal suffrage, abortion, women’s liberation, equal pay, and other reforms, have created a one-sided situation that unfairly benefits women in both marriage and divorce, at the man’s expense.

Marriage, while being publicly understood as a union between man and woman, is also a legal contract. On divorce, the court deems that a legal contract is considered broken, and legal consequences come into effect. There is a dissolution of the previously shared financial assets of the married couple. Assets are divided for distribution to both parties by a court ruling. Typically, a woman will receive 50% ownership of the couple’s assets on initiation of divorce. These assets include property, housing, vehicles, savings, and investments[1].

No-fault divorce is divorce in which the dissolution of a marriage does not require fault of either party to be shown, or, indeed, any evidentiary proceedings at all. It occurs on petition to the court, typically a family court by either party, without the requirement that the petitioner show fault on the part of the other party. Either party may request, and receive, the dissolution of the marriage, despite the objections of the other party.

In the Western world, family law is structurally more likely to award child custody to a child’s mother in the case of divorce [2][3]. This legal situation results in fathers often having very limited access to their children after divorce. In an attempt to balance the rights and needs of the mother, father, and children, courts may award a couple joint custody of their children after divorce.

Proponents of the marriage strike advise that men should simply cohabit (live with a girlfriend), and not actually marry. Living with a girlfriend presents a legally safer alternative, with marriage’s benefits to men, with a reduction in the penalties found within marriage.

However, it should be noted that family law can also be applied in some Western nations (eg, Australia) and other nations (eg Brazil) to de-facto relationships such as these. After a certain length of time, the breakup of a non-marriage, live-in relationship can legally result in a man losing his assets to his ‘de-facto wife’, as considered by the law.

A prenuptial agreement, commonly abbreviated to ‘prenup’, is a contract entered into by two people prior to marriage. The content of a prenuptial agreement can vary widely, but commonly includes provisions for the division of property should the couple divorce and any rights to spousal support during or after the dissolution of marriage.
Prenuptial agreements are not always fully recognized by law in case of divorce. Prenuptial agreements are, at best, a partial solution to obviating some of the risks of marital property disputes in times of divorce. They are not the final word.

Another form of the marriage strike is to single out only American women, or women from any English-speaking country (such as the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand) for shunning.[citation needed] English-speaking women are characterized as rude, aloof, selfish and brainwashed by feminism.[citation needed] Instead, such marriage strikers encourage men to marry women from other, usually developing, countries.[citation needed] Most often mentioned countries are Latin American, Eastern European, or Asian countries, such as the Philippines, Africa, Thailand, Japan, Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Russia, Ukraine and Poland. They state that such women are more likely to appreciate marriage than American women and are much less likely to divorce.[citation needed] Some even go so far as to urge the men to move to the other country and live there rather than bring the foreign wife back to the United States, in case she gets “infected” by feminist ideas; citing horror stories of foreign women using the man for a green card and ripping him off.[citation needed]
In 2005, the International Marriage Broker Regulation Act was attached to the Violence Against Women Act and was passed. The passage of IMBRA includes placing restrictions on visas given to women who meet an American man through an online dating service. Many marriage strikers have assailed the law as a spiteful attempt to protect American women from foreign competition, as a sort of “love tariff“.[citation needed] In fact, despite the term “mail-order bride”, most marriages between American men and foreign women do not use “mail-order bride” services.[citation needed] However, IMBRA can come into effect from any online correspondence, not just through a dating service.[citation needed]

Hey God Almighty’s version of divorce law, adulterers get put to death (read the Old Testament). In modern divorce law, adulterers get cuddled by the courts, and get awarded alimony support for life.
Thanks for running the article on the marriage strike. A primary reason for the disintegration of the white race is the reduction in the numbers of white people. One cause for this is the anti-male divorce industry. Another is feminism. And the general rigging of the system against men. This is why it is futile to try and stop illegal immigration at the frontiers. The real problem is that as white men choose to not get married, or to instead marry non-white women, population demographics start to favor the non-white races.
What I find interesting is that when one brings up this topic, white men immediately start sentimentalizing white women. They do not see the rot that is there among too many white women (e.g., the recent Gloucester case). As I stated in a prior post, the situation has gotten so bad that a friend of mine, formerly an anti-immigration activist, ended up throwing in the towel and marrying a Mexican woman.
Now I am going to go out on a limb here, and say that if my experience is any guide, most white nationalists are men. This is something I have observed about the right in general (insofar as white nationalism can be considered to be a rightwing movement): the right is primarily made up of men, at least the leadership and intelligentsia among it. Go over to the left and you will see higher numbers of women, especially among the multicult.
One can speculate that this is because men are more rational then women. I am sure leftists would say that this is because women are more caring than men. Or whatever. I do not want to turn this into a men versus women thing.
My point is this: the white nationalist movement ignores the female situation at its own peril. The tendency is to assume that your average white person can be made to understand what is at stake here in the overall struggle. But too many people on the right see only other men. They have no clue as to what women are thinking.
We could solve many of our problems if white women would choose to get married and have, say, three children each, then stay married. The question is how one can convince white women (and for that matter, white men) that this is a desirable thing?
It is the role of men to lead, to be the heads of households, to be the fathers of their families. If they do this properly, their wives will not be leaving them. This may not always be easy, and it requires that couples be correctly matched in the first place.
This is where far too many couples go wrong to begin; they are mismatched to start. Marriage is not viewed by many folks as the serious matter that it actually is. When entered into lightly, without the proper preparation, intent and commitment, it is almost certain to fail. Hearthstone has some excellent thoughts on this matter in his current post.
For marriages that are begun correctly, the responsibility lies largely with the husband to keep them going properly. He is in charge; it is his job to keep things going right. There is no assurance that this is going to be easy; it often is going to be very difficult. There are going to be sick kids, bills to pay, times without work or with low pay, and so on. The list of problems is endless. That is what being a man is about. We have to solve problems and keep our families upright, intact, and on the right tack. If we do that, the women folk will come along quite naturally in just about every case because that is their nature. It is when men fail to do their jobs that the women rebel and then all hell breaks loose!
I would advise just about every man to marry (I have been married twice; my first wife died) and I cannot imagine not being married. Marriage is the natural state of man. God created woman so that man would not be alone, and he intended that they live together in the married state, not in fornication. Having said that, I would also advise every man to marry very carefully. A good wife is an absolute blessing from God. I have seen enough wives who clearly were of the other sort to know that they exist too. I also have to say that I advise every man to be prepared to be a true husband, giving of himself sacrificially, prepared to do whatever is required for his wife and family. This is what God has intended for every man.
