By now you’ve probably heard that Sarah Palin resigned as Governor of Alaska. I wasn’t a big fan of her, but nor was I her opponent. I think she shouldn’t have be picked in 2008 as the VP candidate because she was just too green. Had she been a man, Palin would’ve had a chance to rise legitimately for another 8 years and then would’ve been picked when she was ready.
Unlike Half Sigma, I don’t believe that she’s dumb, she just wasn’t ready.
But neither was Geraldine Ferraro in 1984. That woman was lionized, while Sarah Palin has been destroyed.
Everything about her and her family has been under assault. The Left would not have stopped until she was no longer a viable political personality because having a conservative woman figure so prominently in our system would’ve been a constant irritant to those who see women’s right as nothing more than supporting liberal programs.
Women, for example, must oppose school vouchers which would allow them to decide which school their children would attend.
Liberals believe that women should stop listening to their husbands and start listening to Howard Dean.
Many times, I’ve heard leftists defend physical assaults against conservative women like Ann Coulter with a look of bewilderment that is followed by, “but she’s a conservative.”
It is very clear that most liberals believe that it’s acceptable to assault women who disagree with them.
Men are evil, of course, but men are enemies. Women who don’t support liberal programs are committing treason – and traitors are worse than enemies.
Treason cannot be allowed, so Sarah Palin needed to be destroyed. Yesterday was a sad day.
You’re right, Palin isn’t dumb. I’d estimate she’s above average, probably around the 65th percentile. She’s just woefully ignorant on national issues.
It’s hilarious all these liberals denigrate her as plain stupid, yet claim NAMs just need “encouragement and love”.
You know you are a liberal if… You think low IQ is real, conclusive of intelligence, genetic and can’t be fixed, but only among Republicans.
I think both of you need to read Roissy’s analysis as to why Sarah Palin was and still is vilified by thee most influential voting bloc on the Left-Women.
Once you have eliminated the probable, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.
O
I think Sarah was destroyed for the same reason they tried to destroy Clarence Thomas. It’s no secret blacks and women are key Democrat demographics. But that has as much to do with identification as values. Recent Gallup polls show that blacks are MUCH more conservative than white democrats. And that a majority of women are actually conservative. If blacks and women realized that their values align more with the GOP it would hurt the Dems. Therefore, Dems have to prevent the emergence of a major black or female Republican figure. After all, 22% of Democrats actually consider themselves conservative.

Now for my tin foil hat… Does anyone remember the old Wayne Lapierre quote that “President Bill Clinton tolerated a certain amount of violence and killing to strengthen the case for gun control and to score points for his party”? I’ve often wondered if Democrats gin up racial and gender issues for political gain. On second thought, one would actually have to be wearing a tin foil hat to think otherwise.
The feminists hated her because she was the strong woman that they wished they were. She had both family and career. She was a sport woman, keep up with men and still be feminine.
This has to have been the only election (that I know of ) where a candidate’s running mate was constantly compared to the opposing candidate. She only started sounding dumb after hooking with Kissinger and the neo-cons. The whole thing is weird to me.
Now to put my tin foil hat on… Obama, his Lady MacBeth, and the Obamammedans believe in the so-called Chicago way “When they pull a knife, you pull a gun. They send one of yours to the hospital, you send one of theirs to the morgue. Just a thought.

“I think both of you need to read Roissy’s analysis as to why Sarah Palin was and still is vilified by thee most influential voting bloc on the Left-Women.”
I would, if you’d shown the basic courtesy of linking to it.
“Once you have eliminated the probable, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.”
“O”
Sounds good, but no sale. You’re trying to reduce a scientific problem to a logical-sounding formula. But there is no sound logical argument on behalf of believing that which is incredible.
If an explanation for something sounds completely unlikely (“improbable”), it cannot be offered as an explanation for a phenomenon or incident. It could only be a valid explanation if sufficient evidence were adduced making it no longer completely unlikely (“however improbable”).
“I’ve often wondered if Democrats gin up racial and gender issues for political gain.”
I don’t know how often it’s intentional, but it definitely works to their advantage when their programs exacerbate the very problems they’re trying to solve.
See:
CRA -> foreclosure meltdown
welfare -> single mom epidemic
AA -> mismatched NAM students struggling in higher ed
The Democrats often try to douse fires with a “liberal” application of gasoline.
Mike-
That last one’s a great line. I don’t know if you coined it but I’m going to poach it!
Sarah Palin was conservative who loved her husband and children and opposes the militant homesexual agenda. That simply sends the wrong message to young women of today. If she was a snarling man hater who favored abortion and who had an abortion the MSM would declare her a top candidate for 2012 election.
Could the media’s bias be any more obvious?
I meant to say…..Sarah Palin is a conservative who loves her husband and children and opposes the militant homosexual agenda.
I really can spell correctly I just sometimes type fast and forget to proofread.

The US now has an imperial govt. By that I mean an imperial presidency, an imperial congress and an imperial bureaucracy. In the putrid political climate that is Washington DC all that counts is power, position, prestige and ass kissing. There is no vestige of public service left, we the people exist only to further the interests of the governing class. The political class is attended on by the “courtiers” of the press and media, who revel in the reflected glory of our leaders (who travels on Air Force One?), who participate in the intrigues (who’s leaking what?) and who thrive like a fetid mould in the Roman court atmosphere of DC.
Into this arena comes a woman who acknowledges she has bought clothes from a thrift shop, who entered beauty pageants to pay her way through school, who attended 5 “contemptible” schools to get a journalism degree, who has a family business that includes a fishing boat, who decides to bring a downs syndrome child to full term rather than murder it, is very good looking and is obviously getting some. And to cap it all, announces in her speech to the republican convention that she seeks polical office with “a servant’s heart “.
So the whole imperial attack machine goes into overdrive to destroy this hick, and succeeds.
I suspect that what is most disappointing to Sarah Palin is the tepid support and downright backstabbing she got from her supposed “allies”.
It may be going too far to regret that Tina Fey, Andrew Sullivan, et al, are still alive, but the fact that they are all unscathed by their disgraceful behaviour tells me that that we small govt. conservatives had better get ourselves organised, and soon, if we are ever going to have a govt. that reflects our values.
To end this post; consider the difference in treatment that Joe Biden got: Joe Biden is a time serving, corrupt buffoon, an idiot, but he knows how to play the Washington game.
Palin had no business running and should have been home raising her family. (Unfortunately, the latest is only a ploy IMO to set her up to run in 2012.) Her real sin, though, besides being conservative, attractive and successful, is refusing not just once – but twice – to bow down and pay homage to that great idol and sacred cow of a “woman’s right to choose” (to kill her unborn child. Just think of it, the nerve of that woman. First her son, Trig and then her daughter’s baby.)
That is the real unforgivable sin for the irreligious and atheistic left, even the “antiwar” left, who for the same reason, would not get behind R. Paul’s campaign, the only real antiwar candidate. A gynecologist, who had delivered many babies, Paul was pro-life. That trumped all and IMO fully explains the venom and hatred.
Rather “But that trumps all and IMO also fully explains the venom and hatred of Palin.”
When you posters run through the predictable “THEY” who tried to destroy your comically inadequate republican v.p. candidate, be sure to proclaim loud and proud the many republican politicians and right-wing pundits and commentators who called her out for being unqualified…but i do most certainly agree that she would make an absolutely WONDERFUL candidate for your party in 2012; so, please give the gal another chance!
